The Three Scents You Need This Autumn
The change of season had us all caught by a pleasant surprise, we transitioned from scorching, dry days to a refreshing week of thunderstorms and rain. We soon started to see our gardens flourish, those burnt patches on the lawn started to regenerate and it forced us to stay inside and slow down a little.
Whilst many of us remain hustling and bustling each day, sometimes forgetting to breathe, but the seasons never fail to remind us that we too travel with the ebbs and flows of nature, whether we like it or not. We are all interconnected in this life and the more we start to slow down and take in our surroundings the more in touch with reality we are.
The home is where we create these sacred spaces to slow down and truly rejuvenate. It’s those times where the to-do list is ticked off, or substantially reduced. You have a clean kitchen and light a candle, pour yourself a wine and prepare for hosting your friends for an early dinner. You’re content, the scent of Autumn fills the air, colours your day and dictates the mood.
This is what we hope to achieve in our hand poured, natural soy wax candles. They have a life of fifty hours, enabling you to take fifty hours of peace and contentment to yourself.
Oak Moss & Amber features those infamous Autumn earthy & woody fragrances, with a hint of musk. The orange and grapefruit feel like summer is sticking around, it’s refreshing. Whilst the lavender and oakmoss are those calming middle notes, they linger as the centerpiece of this concoction. Amber and sandalwood are those grounding notes that tie it all together, it’s the freshly cut wood, ready for the fire in time for the cooler weather.
Clove, Orange & Cedar Leaf feels like a walk through a forest, straight after a night of rain. The morning sun creates a steam off the forest floor, fir needle clouds the air. The air clears and scents of citrus, being the orange peel, wrap you up as you walk on the path. You stop along the way and enjoy a picnic lunch, fruity scents of peach and strawberry fill the air. As the path furthers your senses are engulfed with patchouli, musk and vanilla, they ground the air and the sweetness calms you.
Australiana is the perfect accompaniment to your next backyard early dinner, the lemon and pine needle are those sharp scents that you initially notice, it’s citrusy and fresh. Though, eucalyptus and lemon myrtle start to develop and it’s that familiar scent that people feel connected to, however, those bright scents are soothed by the grounding base notes of patchouli and sandalwood, tying the Australian bush all together.
